Delete your account

You can delete your Pinbeen account at any time. Here’s how, and exactly what happens to your data.

In the app

This works the same on iPhone, Android and in the web app at app.pinbeen.app.

Send a deletion request from the email address linked to your account. We’ll reply to confirm it’s really you, then schedule the deletion.

Or write to privacy@pinbeen.app with the subject “Delete my Pinbeen account” and include your username if you know it.

We act on requests without undue delay, and within one month at the latest.

Right away You’re signed out on all devices and your profile is hidden from other people.
For 30 days Your account is scheduled for deletion. Changed your mind? Sign in again to cancel.
After 30 days Your account and all of its data are permanently deleted from our servers.
Up to 35 days later Remaining copies in our encrypted backups are overwritten as the backups rotate out.

Your account, email address, password and linked Apple, Google or Facebook sign-ins
Your profile: username, display name, bio, profile picture and home country
All travel data: countries, regions, cities, places, visit dates, trips, ratings and notes
Photos you uploaded
Friends, friend requests, reactions and comments
Your devices, push notification tokens and settings

A minimal record that you asked for deletion and when (no travel data), for up to 12 months, so we can show that we handled your request.
Data we’re legally required to keep, or need for an open abuse report or legal claim, only for as long as necessary.
Aggregated statistics that can no longer identify you.

Want a copy of your travels? Export them in Settings → Data → Export (JSON or CSV) before you delete your account.

Uninstalling the app does not delete your account.

If you signed in with Apple, we also revoke Pinbeen’s access to your Apple ID when the account is deleted.
